To everyone but Jason, I'm being facetious.

Jason, now that everyone else isn't reading, I'm going to tell you the *truth* about your coin. It's obviously a super rare mint error that's worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. You should submit that coin to PCGS at their top tier as an error coin. It's only $250+1% of the coin's value, so given you have a half-million dollar coin, you could get that puppy authenticated for only $5250!!! And, if PCGS says it's not an error, send it over to NGC and see what they say. If they also say no, there's ANACS, ICG, IGC, SEGS, SGS and all the way down to NTC. Someone will eventually say yes, and after spending $20,000+ on grading fees, you'll have your special penny in a holder!

Back to reality... How thick and what diameter is that penny? Show the penny in a caliper with the reading. Also, using a gram scale, show the readout for the weight. If your local coin shop only has a counting scale, they're not aware of the other functions on the scale.

I'll bet he didn't say it weighed as much as two pennies, he said it weighs two pennyweights (or 3.1 grams which happens to be the weight of a copper 1982 cent)

A nickel plating would make it slightly magnetic.
