1982 please quarter error?

    This looks like a mint error that I have heard about. Just need some reassurance.
    And, what do I do with it? ? WP_20151129_002.jpg WP_20151129_001.jpg ]

    Yes to Clipped Planchet - If you look opposite of the clip you will see what is known as The Blakesley Effect is a term used to describe inefficient metal flow, opposite a clip on a coin ( "opposite a clip on a coin" it means the effect will be more or less CW/CCW180 degrees around the rim) from the clipped area., when the rim is formed and the subsequent imperfect or incomplete rim formed at that position after striking.

    So the effect is seen between E and T in LIBERTY, above the R :watching:

    A very small clipped planchets. I like the Blakesley effect that shows opposite the clip.

    I suggest buying a good book on error coins, putting this one in a nice coin holder and labeling it #1 then go on the lookout for #2.
