Can someone tell me the year of this penny. I think it is a 82. But is rhis an ERROR COIN. Or just a poor strike. Its missing a few lettes and missing the word (IN). Any feedback would be great
Welcome to CT. It looks like a '82 cent yo me. This was caused by a grease or debris filled Die. Very common. Yours is worth keeping since you found it but it's not worth extra money. It's a nice example.
Yes, it is the result of a grease-filled die. You can keep it if you want. You might even want to toss it into a one gallon milk container. You will probably be able to fill it up with other grease-filled dies before you retire in the next 20 years or so. That's how common grease-filled dies are. Chris
