Do not know if the chin is damaged or what. Weighs 3.1g. Also looks like a small date.

Chin I think has a little bit a damage.
1982 Large Date- at least that is what the pictures look like.
    Copper
    Circulated well
Fine or less, but probably around good

Even though one shouldn't grade by a single side, you may want to rethink your estimate. The coin displays detail well above what one would expect in either of your mentioned grades.

About Uncirculated and Very Fine. Mary, you should consider doing some online research, or read a book (the red book is good) if you have one to learn the basics.

Come on.... it was a poorly written stretch, so is it really that hard to see why it could have been confusing? Cut her some slack.

I'm not telling her because of that, but because of the numerous threads she has posted on different coins. Plus, it is always helpful for new members (and old ones) to read and learn.

When was I ever giving her a hard time by providing advice? Is there something I'm missing?

Alright, in that case I apologize for my approach. But I still emphasize that books are important for new members.

Lucky for you, it’s only February. You’ll have it by 2019 for sure.
