How would this happen on reverse in between the M & E in AMERICA?
    Thanks again

Since it is a Zincoln and you can see plenty of plating bubbles on the obverse, I wouldn't rule out that it is just another plating bubble. Could be a small die chip too.

Sorry about the bad quality of the pics. As I look at it as if on surface the edge closest to the letter M is higher than the edge closest to the E. It's a pretty good slant but it is raised. Wouldn't a die chip be more of a gorge type mark?
Thank you for such a fast response.

I don't understand what you are trying to describe, sorry. Perhaps you can circle it.

I'm sorry it's what I should have done in the first place...:banghead:

Ok I see now. I honestly have no idea what that is. My first inclination would be damage of some sort. Even if it were some type of die damage, I wouldn't think it would be worth anything more than face value. Hopefully someone else more knowledgeable will chime in.

Thanks, I didn't even think of that as a possible cause. It is large enough to be seen with the naked eye because of the placement and will make a nice addition to my collection.

If it's a zincoln it wouldn't be a lamination problem.

If examining your coins under a microscope is what collecting is all about, then count me out.

I LOVE errors and variations but going to such extremes seems pretty silly...
