I have found only one of these SD zincs, good job finding one. Not the grand prize winner, but now you have a ref. and can see the diff. For me the easiest is the diff. in the 2s. And all of us want to find another elusive 3.11g(copper) '82-D small date. Only 1 known to exist. I weigh every cent '82 and newer while CRH and in daily change. Besides the copper '83-P, I thought I also read of an '83-D, '89-P and '90-P has been found on a copper(bronze) planchet. So good luck and bucks to you should you find one...Spark
I have almost set aside an entire bank box of 82's I have from CRH and will probably end up going through them when I'm bored. I like to tear in to something like that all at one shot to concentrate and truly grasp what I have and what to look for. I never knew those other years you listed have had copper planchets found in them. I also save the '83 cents to weigh out but that takes time so I'll try to do that all at one shot too. Thanks for that other info!!!
Research before you chase a specific year, I'm not positive about the report of a 1990 or if it had a mint mark. And keep in mind when you go through that box of '82s that, including proof, there are nine varieties...Spark
I too weigh the 83s and search for the doubling but did not know there were 89s and 90s that also share the copper planchet erorr I will start looking at those too, thanks for your reference to that. It looks like the 82d sd will always remain a challenge like most of the other varieties errors etc but what’s life without a challenge
I don't know if there would be a market for something like a box of 82's pulled from circulation but I rather enjoy sorting years. If I would become bored with looking through them I wonder if anyone would pay a premium for them. I do the same with 2015's.
I answer as i read. Sorry. I Start later then most. Sorry. Yeah i just gave you a best answer. Get off my
