Jken...the 3 pics you posted, in order...large date, unknown weight can't help without but I suspect it is a chewed up zincoln...next is a reverse of unknown source or weight but in good shape having not been run over by a chopped '32 Ford hot rod in the parking lot...and finally an obverse of a large date of unknown weight in very nice condition, maybe a AU58 but can't help without the weight spec. Do you see a common denominator here? 1982 LMCs are differentiated by weight, along with other parameters. Do your due diligence and learn the basics about the coin you want to post. There are 8 separate types of cents with a 1982 date. The most desired is the 1982-D small date copper, meaning it weighs 3.11 grams or so. Copper-plated zincs weigh 2.5 grams. I am unsure about proofs, I know no mint sets were produced in '82 and '83. Spark
All 1982 proofs are 3.1 gram copper, and they should all be large dates since production started early in the year before the small dates came out.
Reading these posts I found several 1982s some fairly good some beat up among them 4 1982d that seem to have different date sizes. I have many more of these but only 4 1982d so far, all weigh 3.1. There is one that always weighs 3.2. Will keep looking for the Ds
