    That is a Large Date

It's very easy to determine the difference

BTW.. If you are searching for a Copper Denver minted Small Date you probably never will find it. Only 2 have ever been discovered and attributed many years ago. I gave up searching for one about 20 years ago because it became very tiring. There are hundreds of recent new collectors searching for it but to no avail. They always turn out to be Large Dates or Copper plated zinc planchets Cents that are totally normal and part of the 7 known business strike varieties in circulation. Billions were minted and are very common.

The 2 is very delicate on the small 2 and sloppy on the large 2.
    It's true someone found a copper 1982-D small 2 recently, (2019)
but you could spend the rest of your life looking through a billion
1982-D small 2's and never find a copper one. Don't bother. It's always someone in the middle of nowhere who finds one by accident and it's not going to be me or you. You have better odds winning the lottery.

May 2, 2019 — A second 1982-D Small Date homogeneous copper alloy Lincoln cent has been discovered. Like the original discovery coin this latest find is also graded AU-58.
I mean this is relatively recent since it was minted in 1982.

    Really?
I haven't heard about it. Was it properly attributed by a TPG?

A lot of fools on Facebook change the weight on gram scales to make it look like a Copper Cent. It is ludicrous!
