I have a 1982-D small date copper 3.1 grams. The mint mark looks as if it was struck through grease or something. It looks as if the 'D' mint mark may been strucked a lil too deep into the penny. If you zoom in you can see the 'D' mint mark. Mint mark 'D' error. My apologies for the photos being a lil too blurry. Pics was tooken by android phone. The 'D' mint mark is visible. Weight: 3.1 grams Looking for advice. Thanks
That is a 1982 Philadelphia Small Date Copper. That is surface damage, not a “D” mintmark. I have never seen a 1982-D of any kind look like that.
That's a brutal place to have surface discoloration that looks like a D under certain light. But it's in the wrong position, if I'm not mistaken.
