I came a cross this 1982 D penny, with I believe doubling and weight is 3.1 can anyone please tell me if the coin is accurate and has any value please
How can you tell it weighs 3.1 grams? I usually don't try to guess the weight, it doesn't matter how many coin's I've handled the weights are just too close to tell the difference reliably. But you can tell if it's copper pretty easily. Just flip it and it'll sound very different from the zinc coins. The zinc coins have a flat ring to them, the copper a beautiful high pitch.
Don't flip coins I assume she/he weighed it. And if not, go get a scale; they are dirt cheap. Nonetheless, it is a large date 1982-D and my eyes can't see doubling in your pics.
