    Just as an aside, I've never used the word "sir" so much in my 18+ years in the military as you have in your short time here on CT. :) Not saying it is bad. Just making an observation. Every time you say "sir" I have to look over my shoulder haha.

    Thank you for your service sir #SALUTE.... In my country sir is respect... that’s what we understand when we call sir. Unless the person is close to you then we can call his name ... but if your not comfortable I will call you sir I can call you furryfrog I like the name cute .

    Sir is also the title used to address Knights. In England when someone is honored by being made a Knight, say John Smith was Knighted, his title would then be Sir John or Sir John Smith.
