Hello I have a 1982 d copper small date transition penny I don’t know what to do with I’m not a collector! So no reason for me to keep it what should I do to start the sale process?

Spend it! If it was in pristine condition, like MS-65, it would only be worth about fifty cents. Between the large and small dates the Mint produced over 6 billion Cents. Welcome to CT. What a shame you don't collect coins. You may find them very interesting.

Welcome to Coin Talk. 1982 D small date copper cents are extremely rare. How about posting a photo of it on a scale so we can see what you have? No photos, no rare coin. :)

Tirst step is to post good, clear , in focus pictures of it on a scale accurate to at LEAST one decimal place. This is for confirmation that you really have one. Since the first one was discovered and sold we have probably had a thousand people come on the forums claiming to have one, and so for NO ONE has actually had one. You can understand why we are skeptical.

That is a large date. Common. Worth 1 Cent.

Both are 1982 D. The 3.0 is a large date and the penny weighing 3.1 is a small date. Please correct me if i'm wrong. Any value to either? 20200708_191448.jpg 20200708_191410.jpg 20200708_191551.jpg 20200708_191611.jpg

Pretty sure its a small date. There's also doubling on the 2 and D. Which makes it look like a large date. 20200708_202519.jpg

It doesn't make it look like a large date; it is a large date. The photo showing five coins are all large date.

They are both large dates. They are both common. And they are both worth one cent.
