My son gave me hand full of change today. This is what I found. The cent weighs 3.06. I believe it’s a small date. Is this a copper cent?

Really. My son had this change on the back floor board of his car. Is this a cent that has any value? Is it worth getting it looked at? Just wondering because of the condition.

It wouldn't be worth the money, the coin has seen circulation, and has damage.

Thank you. Well it’s worth keeping for my newly coin collection.

This is a Philly copper small date 1982. In mint state it has a small premium.
In this condition, it's a penny. They used copper for most of the year and switched to zinc later in the year. Between Denver and Philly they made 17 billion 1982 cents. It's the most common coin date on earth.
