<p>[QUOTE="WBASE Joe, post: 1702431, member: 50738"]Hello there, I am a new member here but a reader for quite a bit. I recently purchased a 1981 US Mint Proof set, in which I believe that 3 out of the 6 coins are type 2. They are still in the original us mint case, but unfortunately they have a little staining to them due to the case not being sealed properly.</p><p><br /></p><p>Are they type 2s, which I feel pretty strongly they are, definitely the SBA, after comparing to many pics across the web, as well as physically comparing to other 1981 type 1s. I took a picture with my 60x loupe of each coin for you guys to see.</p><p><br /></p><p>How much is the set worth in the case, being the few are type 2s? Would it be worth more to crack them open and sell individually? Any info would be greatly appreciated.</p><p><br /></p><p>Now for the photos: The first 2 links are the SBA. The 3rd link is the quarter. The 4th link is the nickel. The 5th link is the penny. The 6th is the dime. And the last link is the half dollar. Sorry if you have to rotate them to see, I took them with my HD cam on my cell phone, and am posting from my phone as well. The pictures are high res so you can zoom pretty good.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><a href="Http://i42.tinypic.com/30ncgo2.jpg" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="Http://i42.tinypic.com/30ncgo2.jpg" rel="nofollow">Http://i42.tinypic.com/30ncgo2.jpg</a></p><p><br /></p><p><a href="Http://i41.tinypic.com/34gk8jb.jpg" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="Http://i41.tinypic.com/34gk8jb.jpg" rel="nofollow">Http://i41.tinypic.com/34gk8jb.jpg</a></p><p><br /></p><p><a href="Http://i41.tinypic.com/lb5eo.jpg" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="Http://i41.tinypic.com/lb5eo.jpg" rel="nofollow">Http://i41.tinypic.com/lb5eo.jpg</a></p><p><br /></p><p><a href="Http://i41.tinypic.com/6rri1.jpg" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="Http://i41.tinypic.com/6rri1.jpg" rel="nofollow">Http://i41.tinypic.com/6rri1.jpg</a></p><p><br /></p><p><a href="Http://i44.tinypic.com/33moowk.jpg" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="Http://i44.tinypic.com/33moowk.jpg" rel="nofollow">Http://i44.tinypic.com/33moowk.jpg</a></p><p><br /></p><p><a href="Http://i40.tinypic.com/2937srq.jpg" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="Http://i40.tinypic.com/2937srq.jpg" rel="nofollow">Http://i40.tinypic.com/2937srq.jpg</a></p><p><br /></p><p><a href="Http://i44.tinypic.com/accqcm.jpg" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="Http://i44.tinypic.com/accqcm.jpg" rel="nofollow">Http://i44.tinypic.com/accqcm.jpg</a></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Any info and all opinions are more than welcome.
