I'm not sure if all woodies show the grain on both sides or not. It was brought up in another thread. You would think that it would have to. But I'm not sure.
I will have to look. I have a few of these set aside somewhere. Some have the lines on one side like the OPs coin but a couple have them on both sides. All of them are from the early 80's. I have asked about them on another forum and it seems that there is a difference of opinion in what they are. Some call them roller lines while others call them woodies.
I found some photos I shot when I was asking about them. Here are 3. So are they woodies or just roller line marks?
Have a question I've been finding some not so flat Lincoln cents is this an error at the mint or is it pmd?
the dime is pre 1969 the cent is not I have one more but can't seem to find it the dime feels concave the cent is just bent
Sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread yesterday. Both of those coins were bent somehow after they left the mint. PMD. When a planchet gets struck at the mint it gets put under a lot of pressure to press the devices (lettering, artwork. etc etc) into them that I don't think this kind of error is even possible.
