1980 off center or misaligned

    Help me understand why the rim is this way . one thing i dont know much of.

    maybe a misaligned die ? wait for more experienced opinions....

    Like @spirityoda said. Minor misaligned die on the obverse.

    Misaligned Die Strike on the Obverse.
    Centered Strike on the Reverse.

    Most of the time one side is centered. The blank planchet would be held by the retaining collar and usually the hammer die will create the misalignment.

    Off Center would show on both sides with some of the lettering and numerals missing because it was struck out of the third collar (retaining collar) that holds the blank planchet.

    What? Third collar. (Retraining collar) this makes no sense to me.
    I think maybe You mean (Retaining Collar). Are you catching a train again?
