Could be you didn't get the response you expected because the Susan B dollar is not a very popular coin! :D Maybe you already know that, idk. The error you have is a nice one! :cigar: As far as value, I would think you wouldn't get much for it and for that reason I would keep it. :joyful: Susan B's are frowned upon as most collectors feel it's an unattractive coin, some say more than that. Google is your friend, please check it out! ;)

i'm not a fan either. i paid $9 for them simply because i wanted the oddball with the clad missing :)

Looks like a missing clad layer. It's a great mint error no matter which clad coin has the issue.

Yes that is a great coin if the reverse clad layer is missing, and the coin has been well preserved in the packaging. It's valuable. Yes as Paddy says it's an error and a good one.

It's missing the clad layer on that coin. A great error to have a nicer since it's in a government issued souvenir set. Please leave as is, like don't remove it or cut the plastic.

    Incorrect.. On a SBA I would put a value of $150.00 - $200.00

If it were mine I would have it attributed.

Here is an example from my collection -

I don’t usually peruse the error threads. Not my area of interest and I get tired of road rash cents.... But this one is cool and I want to follow the thread. Picking up a major error like that... In a set... And for nine bucks? It just don’t get any better!

If you remove from the set it's just a coin but leaving it in the set I think, is much better. It's part of the set. By talking to each TPG you may find one you can send it to that will leave it as part of a set. It's definitely interesting but as part of a set it's more so.

I would also leave it in the set. That protects the provenance.

another cool thing about the set is the S mint is the "filled" die variety. anyone care to see a pic?

The filled S is the most common I believe but I don't collect these. I have a full set but not really my thing.

The blob S is minor. On the 79 the clear S is the one, but I believe
    that is proof only.
The missing clad is a monster. Also I am wondering if the missing clad is
ALSO near date, wide rim? Which would make it worth even more.
