I found a 1979 SBA with the weight of 9.4 grams. I know a common one weighs 8.1 grams. And it appears to have doubling on the reverse side. I would like some information on what I might have . Thanks
OP, if you're serious about this, the first thing to do is to post photos of both sides of the entire coin, not a bunch of disjoint close-ups. It's like asking us to identify a face based on close-ups of the forehead, nostrils, and right earlobe.
I will post full photos so everyone can FULLY see the coin . I do appreciate everyone’s opinion on it. I had a funny feeling that something was up with it.
I would have to agree that there is a good possibility that this is a counterfeit. (Which frankly probably makes it worth more than a real one,)
As a counterfeit, it's much more interesting and worth more than $1. The eagle looks awful. If it were a thickly rolled planchet, it still wouldn't be that heavy. This is an awesome find for $1.
