1979 penny possibly a ddo

1979 penny possible ddo but without any information at any of the sites i have check
..I know that the chances of it being the 1979 ddo are slim to none.....but its look like it might be a ddo

Appear to be the result of a deteriorated die, IMO.

 

Just a normal cent...but you will note that some dates/designs can appear more doubled-like than others. The 70s are like that...especially 1974 with the large and small dates.

Obverse Design Varieties (varietyvista.com) Have a look at the design used 1974 forward.

 

I think I see what you are talking about, especially above the IN. That is die deterioration...flowing toward the rim.

 

Worn dies give that appearance.
