Can you help me please. I am new to this but have resurched a little and as far as I can tell in 1979 Philadelphia started using P instead of no mint mark. I have a 1979 roseavelt dime with no mint and it's misaligned obverse. is no mint mark significant in anyway?

Nope. It just means it was minted at Philadelphia.

1980 was the first year with the P mm.
