Take a look at the condition of your coin. It has numerous marks, digs scratches etc, which isn't unusual for coin that's been in circulation almost 40 years.

coins that show heavy circulation or environmental damage can appear to have "mint errors". However, these are almost always due to circulation. This is the case with your quarter.

    Sorry

They get filled like that from wear/ circulation.
    I haven't heard of any 1979 D over P varieties.

If you take a look there is also coin roller damage,

I Agree.. Circulation wear and tear..

You're looking too closely at your coins.

There is nothing there at the D of Dollar.

Sorry - and don't forget that coins in circulation
get banged up a little bit, sometimes alot, and
so if you look closely at almost any cic coin,
you'll find contact marks, bag marks, etc. that
are due to normal wear and tear of coins.
