Mike I'm really curious about how you can think this way without even examining this coin in hand ? I would like for you to explain how someone or something could have damaged this coin this way and and all of the original mint luster still remain in place and not scratched up at all. Also the coin still weighs exactly as a normal one so none of the metal is missing. The rim is totally intact with no damage at all , did you notice how close to the rim at the 11 O'clock position the die pushed the die cap to it ?The rim is paper thin here in this area. this is positive proof the coin was still in the collar or the rim in this area would have had to be damaged. The reverse is in still in near mint condition. I know you have known me for a long time and know I'm not some newbie and know what the heck I'm doing. Hey I'm not blaming you for this . It is all my fault for putting it here on CT in a lions den in the first place. Mike I believe you already know who looked at this coin for me , and he is just as good as any coin examiner that ever lived and sure much better than me. I know the coin is not worth slabbing , I'm going to go ahead and send it in anyway and get it graded and slabbed plus the coin that may be mislabeled as a die clash coin . I'm thinking it is a struck thru from clogged die droppings . The Vise job coins will make this one hard to get it correctly identifyed because it does look somewhat lie a vise job except for where the letters from American are so close up against the undamaged rim. Have a nice weekend
