Tyler, I wasn't trying to get on your case or anything. Simon (noncents) just doesn't post much anymore. I was just letting you know he was knowledgeable about Lincoln varieties. No worries buddy.
Take a look at the " R " . Wait, that's more die deterioration doubling . Someone need to get glasses .
I'll start by saying that this is not pointed at anyone. The reason that many can't see minor doubling is because of the quality of the images. If the focus, color and lighting are off, it's tough to see. Large images are not always better and may not tell the story. You can't just enlarge a poor image and expect much. It has to start with a high quality image.
Here non cent . Just like I told you before . http://varietyvista.com/01a LC Doubled Dies Vol 1/1943PDDR013.htm
I don't see die deterioration doubling. I see light doubling, as in light from the scope directly overhead. You need light falling across the devices to see what needs to be seen. A light source that is directly overhead causes false doubling. Arrows don't help. I saw that on the right side of the R without the arrow.
I thought I saw some die deterioration doubling. on the left sides of some letters in LIBERTY but on second thought I think you're right with the lighting illusion.
No offense, Rick, but you, of all people, probably shouldn't attack other's possible misinterpretations and/or mistakes. It's not like you're batting 1.000, my friend....
Yeah not quite sure what he was referencing...there's no mechanism that would prevent DDO+DDR combinations as far as I'm aware. But that's getting off-track from the original topic, I guess.
I'm not trying to pick on you . But non-cents when are you going to learn about the staging of dies . I Just don't understand how you comment, without studying the coin for staging and then checking the error sites for the DDO .
