1978 DDO Lincoln and Rev crack

    I looked at VV with this 1978 Lincoln. Die chip below a 8. I want to say cracked die coming from above that 8 but not sure. Stood out to me especially “WE”. Also crack on reverse. A MAD? Ty!

    Looks like a small die chip on the 8. (neat)
    Are you sure there is a crack kinda looks like a stain to me.

    (not real sure about the die crack though. Looks too spread out)

    Thank you! Well it is strange. I tried to put the area where the copper is lifted to the right of the bottom of building. It starts all around there. :)

    Lol! Well you can tell if it is raised or not. Or if it’s a stain etc. :)

    I tend to use a rose thorn. Green is better to try and not disturb luster or remove the toning.

    Looks more like lamination than a die crack. The die crack would be raised. If a die crack were that wide it would be very easy to tell if it were raised or not.

    There is a possibility it could be a defective planchet.
