    I think they mean the filled "D". The center post on the die broke off, quite common.

    It looks as though has been double struck The 2014 Penny

    If you mean doubled, that has nothing to do with being struck twice. I see some plating issues and maybe some md, nothing else.

    Some coins have part of the die to break off and the D mintmark looks like it is filled. That's not what you meant.
