Grease filled die. Not sure what you are saying about D/D. It's not a Denver mint coin. It's a common coin. Save it if you wish.
How can it be a D/D? It has no mm, so it was minted in Philadelphia. And what other error are you thinking it could be?
@Larry Butler You need to explain yourself better D/D stands for D over D Mint Mark.. In other words, RPM Repunched Mint Mark Or Were you trying to ask if it's Doubled Die? Then you would use DDO which stands for Doubled Die Obverse
Larry Butler, I don't know about Larry Hair, but I am unable to enlarge your image any more than clicking on the "Thumbnail" will allow. That is why I often suggest that the "Full Image" be used instead of the Thumbnail. Chris
I am truly not seeing anything definite to it as far as an error. Try a clearer pic and also put it as full image here.
I think it might help if you crop out the unnecessary background (like paddy did in Post #11) then resize your photo before adding the "Full Image" to your post. Chris
I’m going to say this coin was struck thru grease OR AKA grease filled die strike. It is a nice example of that type of MINT ERROR. Yes it’s a minor error but it was caused BY the mint and as such is a TRUE error worthy of conserving and enjoying with other like coins you find in the future. Total value of coin $.01 Hope this helps Sincerely, Reed Oh ya forgot the missaligned die strike too.
