1976D Dime Reverse Question

    I've seen this on quite a few different coins, and keep wondering if it is just time damage or if it's a matter of polished die. I can not tell the difference.

    The I and M in DIME has nearly vanished.

    There is nothing remarkable on the Obverse. Except the Y in LIBERTY touches the rim, but I've seen that alot, I don't think it means anything, right?

    Grease filled strike. You can see that there was some in the E of dime too, just not enough to obscure the whole letter.
