    Also.. in your poll you stated misprint.
    Coins are struck not printed. Paper currency is printed using ink.

    Yep. I concur. Damaged.

    The phantom "fifth digit" does look unusual at first glance- and I can see why you'd think you might have something there. But if you look at all of the other old scrapes and gouges the coin received (probably "road rash" from being a "parking lot penny"), it seems apparent that what you have there is just metal that got moved around as a result of the damage to the coin's surface.

    The damaged area later received wear which gave it a lighter color on the high points, which coincidentally made it look even more like an extra numeral.

    It isn't, though. Trust @paddyman98 on this. It's "DEFDAM".
