Hard to really tell since that Ike was struck with a worn die. Deterioration is so bad that it wouldn't even matter IMHO
Sure could be looks like a good possibility, but Paddyman is often right. Too bad that the die was so worn.
OK, try these.....the Ike Group doesn't list a 1976 D Type 1 as being in the peg leg status, but that doesn't mean there cannot be one. According to their definition; "Whenever the left corner appears sharp, it is probably not a peg leg...." My coin is definitely rounded.
I don't care to sell my collection for personal reasons but how much does it cost to have one like this authenticated?
It's an unnecessary expense, and may not come back graded or attributed the way you want. You can set your money on fire also with the same result.
I think David is right...I don't see a '76 D Type 1 peg leg listed. I see a '76 D Type 2 peg leg listed (6D2-201). pdf link (beware!) http://www.ikegroup.info/Ike Price Guides/Ike Price List VI.pdf
If Dave was to send it into Anacs, they would put Peg Leg on the label . But you are correct. it's not listed in the price guide on the link you posted .
Would he be charged more for them putting Peg Leg on the label? I went through all of my Ike's and have many variations but all are still in the original mint package as uncirculated .
So I have to ID the variety and they charge $7 to put it on the label? What if I am clueless which I mostly am will they put it on because they ID it?
If you don't know which variety it is and you know it's a variety . That would cost you 12 bucks, instead of 7 .
