I'm kind of new, and getting further into collecting coins.
I'm just curious to whether or not this is an error coin.
The outer edge looks like it has been stamped twice.
any comments or knowledge would be greatly appreciated!

Heres another one I have a question about, it too looks like it's been stamped twice.
    The outer edge looks doubled.

Those are from minor mis-aligned dies. They are very common and no extra value.
Welcome to the forum and keep searching!

Cents (aka "pennies") made at the Philadelphia Mint have never had a mintmark.

    Hello msnyder0723,

Welcome to CoinTalk. If you have any further questions, please post them here.

You have posted one photo of a 1975 with no mint mark & another photo of a 1975 with D mint mark. The "no mint mark" coin was minted in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia mint did not use the mint mark "P" until well after 1975. There was a "P" mint mark placed on the nickel during the WWII years but that is a different coin & story. :smile

The 1975 cent depicted with the "D" mint mark was minted in Denver.

The doubling at the edge you see in these coins is actually quite typical. I don't believe that anyone pays a premium for it.

The 75D looks like it was in some kind of a bezel. Still no extra value over face.

FYI, the no mint mark coin could have been minted at either Philadelphia or West Point. The West Point mint produced Lincoln Cents from 1973-1986. They do not have a mint mark and thus cannot be distinguished from a Philadelphia minted cent.

Our late great member Clinker had this as one of his many trivia posts. I sure miss those, I learned something new every time:

Someday, someone will figure out the markers for the WP dies and the TPG's will go crazy with new work.

They probably already know...and they're just waiting for the right time to release the information to maximize profit. :D

First coin - Common MAD (mis-aligned die)

Second coin - Looks normal, not an error.

You'll get more views and more help if you start a new thread for your coin and include photos.
Your photos should be in focus, taken straight on (not at an angle) and tightly cropped.
