1975 No Mint Mark Dime

What if this no-S dime ended up in circulation? If there are possibly 242(obviously no one really knows how many there are), isn't it quite possible that some were stolen and/or spent by some unknowingly?
And, how do we tell the difference between the two if we have a great looking dime, for 40 years of possible wear? I'm new and need to learn how to tell the difference! My dime is pretty darn nice to be almost my age!!
