1975 D Nickel with moved "D"

    Anyone know if this is worth more than 5 cents? Ran across this in the change. The D mint mark is moved alittle from normal location and there is a spot on the left side of edge.

    Well, at 9 o'clock in between "WE" and "GOD" there's a cud. The D might just be nothing, but you might want to wait until the other experts take a look. So far, with the cud, the coin is worth about $5.

    That coin is on page 139 of the Red Book and has "premium value"... and I also found one today...

    I know this is an old thread, but especially with the cud, this is a very valuable and scarce coin. This is a misplaced mintmark.

    The original poster has not been seen since Jan 2011.. I wonder what they did with the coin?

    I've been lookin' years for the misplaced mm haha. Ya who knows? Probably still sitting in his personal collection.

    I found this nickel a few months ago, sent to P.C.G.S. came back AU 55 no designation on location of the D. I believe they are so rare they have to have some value. Just my opinion.

    They do have a good value. PCGS does not officially certify them on holders, but NGC does.

    I just found one with the cud and the high D mint mark tonight 7/13/2019. Apparently quite rare

    Rarity is just 1 of many factors that determine value of a coin.
