Is it common for nickels to have a filled mint mark? 20191111_121949.jpg 20191111_122002.jpg

Yes, very worn die issue. Notice also the missing hair detail at ponytail and throat.

I needed to know how common was this error. I knew that the quarters of the 1970s and 1980s were very common. I know now all are common.

It's actually very common, especially if you do a lot of roll searching. Especially on nickels and quarters in the 70's-80's. They tended to take a beating and the dies were changed less frequently. It does not add any value but still fun to collect.

I may put it with my quarters and pennies.
