The reverse in United the right branch of the T, the top arm in the E, and the upper curve of the D. Under microscope it's not like PMD where it would be chipped off. It's not broken the stamping shadow is there, but there's nothing there. Thanks in advance for your views and knowledge. 20211026_204448.jpg 20211026_204238.jpg 20211026_203750.jpg 20211026_203709.jpg 20211026_203541.jpg 20211026_203418.jpg 20211026_203041.jpg

Dearborn Above average collector - Is that an Error?

Looks like grease was pushed up against the rim and blocked some of the devices.

As the die is used, it is periodically greased. Sometimes the grease (and other debris) builds up in the die cavity that creates the coin relief designs. Called a "filled die" coin. Actually of little worth.

Most likely debris/grease filled in that part of that die. Its value comes from anything you can learn from it.

Nothing wrong saving them if you like them or spending them if you don't. Learning and growing in the hobby is the important thing, IMO

Enough of an oddity to warrant a 2x2. Make a nice gift to a new child collector

Appears to have a bit of lamination issue also. It's a keeper, in my opinion. Thanks for sharing it, good luck.
