I’m new to coin research and have been trying to learn by searching online. I have recently found these two Lincoln pennies. Both pennies seem to have “Extra Hair” or “Wild Hair.” I’m not sure if that’s accurate or if the coins are just worn out or if that’s even a special variation. I’m not sure about the small/large date variation or if that’s even a thing with 1974 Lincoln Pennies. I would love any insight/knowdlege/advice!

Thank you! Seems that the 1974 coin’s variety is only the thin/thick date.

That sounds about right in my recollection. The mid and late 70s didn't produce a lot of RPMs, DDOs, and DDRs as I recall (I mostly collect cents and nickels). Finding AU/BU specimens in change/CRH is pretty difficult...but not impossible.
