The coin has been filed. The edge as well has been filed.

These are not real uncommon. I'm not sure why people do this.

It will be quite light if you weigh it.

I was wondering why someone would do this also...Can't quite figure that one out. Its weight was 5.46g., so yes less than the norm of 5.67g.
I think I'm still going to hold on to it though, just because I've never come across one before, and now that I know what it is, I kind of like it.

Spooning! Being a poor kid, I spooned myself a collection of rings to wear……. Yeah, I had waaaaay too much time on my hands as a lad.

I couldn't see an ear ring, but I have seen it on other quarters.

Nope. Being a determined sort, I finished each one I started. It is a long and slow process. The longer you tap the edge the more it builds up. Tap it long enough and you can end up with a pretty beefy looking ring once you drill out the center.

 

You know...I believe that about you. And that is a good thing.
