1974 penny with no mint mark.. I was trying to figure out if there was any premium value to this coin..... Its possibly a DDO and to me it looks like it has some characteristics of a proof penny......or whether it was just a really well stuck penny...... Any advice i can get will heñp me out.....
Hey , Welcome to CT ! Taken from circulation, a 1974 no-mintmark one cent coin is worth exactly 1¢ in the US, with minimal numismatic (i.e. collector) value.
Ok ty very much......to me ilook like there was some doubling in In God we Trust and date but it maybe machine doubling which is very common
hey Bradford Adams welcome to CT. i don't see and DDO and the 1974 Proof cent would have the "S" mint mark. the 1974 Lincoln penny had varieties for that coin. the one variety i want to mention was the large and small date variety. the P (Philadelphia) coin didn't have a mintmark, which i believe is your coin. the "D"(Denver) and "S"(San Francisco - PROOF) did have mintmarks. good luck
I noticed there are a lot of these with missing mint marks turning up in these forums, this isn’t the only one. Being so many, I wouldn’t think they’d carry any premium. In fact I found several in my pocket change just the other day, I’m sure of it.
As with other posts, no mintmark on a business strike means it was minted in Philadelphia. No "P" mintmarks on lincolns until 2017, and then only for that year.
