Need some help here from the experts I have a legitimate 1983 Brass Plated Cent- pics attached. My question is- the 1974 Lincoln cent that I have , Pics also attached, is this also brass plated, but worn away, or brass doesn't wear and this is just a regular copper cent? I know they made Brass plated cents in 83,85,97,98 - but none that I am aware of in 1974 except for the Aluminum cents of 74. Thanks for the help on this one!
Cents were bronze through 1982. The were not plated. They were homogenous throughout. Exceptions exist. The 1943 Cent was zinc plated over steel. The Cents through 1864 were CN (copper nickel).
