1973 what type of strike is this

    That's a misaligned die. They are only worth saving if the misalignment is so extreme that it cuts into the design elements. Otherwise, they are very common.

    Yes Misaligned Die. I cut an area of your Cent to show the presence of a Double or False Rim. I collect these and I have found that there are many from the early 1970's. You have a nice Cent there! :woot: Thanks for showing the Reverse side also!

    The 1973 cents have the strongest strike making the rim taller. The obverse was the adjustable hammer die. The reverse was the anvil die which is stationary. The hammer die was slightly out of adjustment. The reverse is normal. These become collectable when the die is so far off center the devices are falling over the rim of the coin.

    Note how the Motto is cut off over the edge. Your coin is not that far out of alignment though, so it is common.
