Thanks for all the Pics! Question and not to sound mean but do you think this could of happened at the "Mighty 'Ole Mint"?
After looking at it on the rim.. No sir! Thank you! And you sounded just fine. @Mountain Man would say, Pam Pam!!! lol! Thanks again.
Yes, it has been messed with. It looks as though someone hammered a bottle cap into the reverse, but I don’t think the diameters jive…so it has to be something else…Spark
Looks like dried adhesive on the reverse. That Cent was probably attached to something and was taken off. Like this old party souvenir brooch..
I should have known. Looking through coins for someone and the deceased sold jewelry. I should have known better! lol!
Ok lol! I should have known better. Now that I think about it and look at it, as a jewelry dealer he was, maybe painted with gold. But why a 73 but I’m glad he did not mess with a coin that has more of a story and history. If that makes sense. Ty!
Here's my old thread https://www.cointalk.com/threads/40-years-later-its-finally-mine.321652/ It was a Hispanic thing They glued Dimes to celebrate different occasions.
