It may ne nothing or it might be something...lol. im new to this game but love it. Can someone tell me what I have came across...much thanks. The M and the A seem to be bigger than they should on the word "america" and the mint mark is not correct. Double stamp?

Everything looks like a well circulated 43 year old Quarter should look like. Mintmark probably took a hit. Smashed a bit.

Could also be a minor Die Chip in the Mintmark. Common.

If you were to share what it is you see that's "interesting" about the coin, we could offer more tailored explanations as to why it is or isn't what you think.

The M In the word america along with the A are twice as wide as they should be in relation to the other letters...when I hold it at certain angle in the right light It looks like a double line on the upper right hand side of the letter M. As far as the mint mark...it looks likes to me that the middle of the D is bubbled out...not an impression or a scrape...and the letter A on the back...the open triangle thats supposed to be in the letter is filled in as well...hope that helps

Ah, what you have there is a well circulated clad quarter. What you have described in detail is known as wear. Wear causes the letters to wear down and that spreads them out wider in appearance. Everything you described can be attributed to wear from circulation.

    Welcome to CT. :)

Actually, wear is NOT the only thing that spreads letters on a coin.
If you are able, take a photo of the "AME" and the wing. Or perhaps @SuperDave will do his amazing camera trick and show that area.

looks like a normal circulated coin. If you start looking at every 1970's 25c you get in change you will see this effect again.
