Well this was a good learning experience for me. I learned a lot from this. I guess I was very lucky to find this coin in a $25 penny box and in the condition it is in. This has been the third box I have ever searched. Thanks for everyone's input.

Congrats from me also.. I just wanted to say that that the title incorrectly states Double Die but in your first post you called it a Doubled Die.. that is the correct terminology and I hope you continue to use it ;)

I have another question about this coin. Is this coin worth getting it graded and slabbed? I think there is 2 places to get this done, NGC and PCGS? From what I understand is that this coin is worth about $45 to $65? I know getting it graded and slabbed is a personal choice. I have never done this before and have only read about it on Coin Talk. Any and/or all comments welcome.

No. Dont grade it. It costs 30 buck to grade so if you go and get it graded, you might be paying more for grading it then it's actually worth. Wexlers would be the rout I would go if you want it to be attributed. And then you would have to find someone who wants to pay 65 dollars for a penny. Wexlers is 12 dollars

Grading would be up to you. I don't get my varieties graded because I collect them because I like them. Value matters nothing to me...well only if I cherrypick something really cheap that would otherwise cost me a lot. I don't plan on selling mine so as long as I am comfortable keeping them protected. I like knowing I can remove them from the 2x2 and study them if I want. I feel like the slab is too much like prison, lol. That's just me though.

As for sending it to Wexler, or James Wiles for that matter, that would be a waste of money in my opinion. That coin is die 2 without a doubt. You would be paying the $12 just for confirmation, not grading and encapsulation.

    Just my two "cents"!

I will be keeping this find and not selling it. The DDO does stand out. I agree with the help I got on this question, "Don't grade it". Thanks for the comments, it really help me to decide what to do with this coin.

Def grade it Could cost you around 15 with ANACS or NGC, save PCGS for the true rarities.

Spend half of the value of the coin just to have it graded?

    Half? 15+15=30.
PG for CONECA 2-O-I-CCW in MS60-$90

    Thats 1/3 or 6/25. ;)
Its up to the OP if he/she wants to sub.

Add postage both ways and see where it lands.
Next you hope it does not come back AU or details.

True. OPs decision not mine. I forget about postage cuz I live by ANACS so my rare varieties go there.
