Great Find!! Is it labeled as one? Can we see a close-up of the "N" in IN and the "G" God please? This is one that has me confused. What exactly is a "Shadow Ike"?
That little line next to earth looks like a shadow. It's about 11:00 if earth was the face of a clock. It is in the field. Hopeully that helps. Rick's closeup of the earth shows the shadow very well.
Wait I didnt realize It was an S. Arent all the 1972 S's shadow Ike's. It had to be struck with a higher relief than the clads because it was silver. Unless im mistaken. I assumed it was 1972 D when I saw the words shadow Ike.
Only a third of the 72-S BS are shadow Ikes and very hard to find in early die state too . I think the reverse is a DDR too ..
I agree I see what looks to be "notching" in the stars. I am not convinced this is a 2SB-301. There doesn't appear to be any tripling in IGWT. There is some doubling though. Maybe just lighting problem?
Ok cool. I must have missed that in my reading. You made me go recheck my 72 S, and it is a shadow Ike. Didnt look hard enough to see any doubling though. Yours is really nice. Great coin!
