I found this 1972 and the first thing I noticed is the spot on and in front of forehead. Is this a dropped filling error?

No, it's the start of corrosion.

I have a 1962 D that has a spot in the same area. I thought it was strange for 2 coins 10 years apart and different mint location to have the start of corrosion in the same spot. I am not doubting what was said. Thanks for the input!.
