I just want to make sure before I call NGC up and complain. I sent in a bunch of Ike's to be graded. Two of them were 1972 coins. I have picked these coins up over the last year from shows. The only reason I bought them is because they are type 3's. So I send some Ike's in for grading and when I get them back both of the coins say type 1 on them. I don;t get it they look the same. I looked at Florida, looked at the earth and looked at Cuba and the islands. They were in my mind type 3. I posed a pick of the one here to make sure I wasn't losing it before I called up NGC and ask them what they were thinking. The straw that broke the camels back is the 1976 Type 1 that I sent in. Nice coin the label came back saying 1976 D Type 1, go figure. When it rains it pours. I broke out a nice 73 D that was in a NGC holder that was ms 65. I think the coin is a 66, it comes back as a 64. I'm so frustrated with not just the QC and simple mistakes like getting the types and mint marks right, I'm now starting to wonder about the grading I hope they control the grading better than the labeling. Maybe its time to join PCGS.
