    Any idea what it's worth?

It's stamped 18K on the side, and it weighs 16.65 grams.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I wouldn't get my hopes up too much. Franklin Mint products are usually overpriced to begin with and mintages are rarely revealed to support their high prices.

Maybe Sy @Skyman could help you. He's a big collector of space memorabilia.

Gold Weight: 16.65 grams (equals 10.71 DWT, also known as pennyweight)
    Purity: 18k
Gold Price: $1123.20 / troy ounce

    Total gold value is $450.95.

I'd imagine it's value is based on the gold spot value. As Chris stated Franklin mint products are sold at extreme mark ups initially and don't really have any value to collectors and are primarily only valued for the precious metals they contain.

    scottishmoney Buh bye

Years ago Mezhnumismatika in Moscow sold similar gold medals that were usually .900 fine and 17 grammes of gold - I have the Tolstoy that I bought at melt. Unfortunately in recent years people have realised how few were actually sold because they were sold in the USSR to foreigners for obscene prices. I would like the Tereshkova(first female cosmonaut in 1963) medal but when I have found them they trade for 2X spot value.
