1972 double die

    Where do you see doubling?

    Looks completely normal to me.

    Ok thank you I thought double die meant the color because it has. Purplish color to it but now I know

    The die is the tool used to mint the coin. It has nothing to do with color.

    With the new Breast Cancer Awareness commemorative 'pink gold' coins coming out, this just may be a new error! :) (Yes, I know they are not dyed)

    I just want to add that there are a number of 1972 DDO varieties in addition to the main one shown by rickmp. From the photo I can't tell if it may be one of them.

    I'm actually glad you mentioned this, and simply because it's something I had never heard of thought of before. Aside from the spelling differences, it's really not that unreasonable of an assumption for one new or unfamiliar with the hobby.
