    Hey Guys,
Yesterday I found this CRH but I didn't post it in the error section. I wanted to be sure I thought it was a DD not another common error. I'm still not sure, but I'm more confident. My only concern is that there arent 2 seperate sets, like in many double die cases. Any insight into this coin would be helpful. The doubling is strongest in "we trust"
    Thanks,

It appears to be either a slight case of machine doubling or die erosion... quite common on these coins.

Thank you all for your advice. I didn't see the "shelf like" qualities that would signify machine doubling. However I'm not an expert.
    Thanks again!

Based on the extreme "orange peel" effect, I'd chalk it up to die deterioration. It was struck by very worn dies. I've seen this distortion of devices a lot on Jefferson Nickels.

Not sure what type of error this would be considered. Worn die maybe??

Comparing it to CPG's photo it doesn't look like it. Keep looking though b/c I have found a few.

Yours looks like textbook mechanical doubling, very pronounced "flat and shelflike" result, with identical tells on multiple letters. I think it would show more in isolated areas if it were die deterioration.

For instance, on the OP half, the W in WE is very weak but other letters are strong with no doubling. This effect gets my agreement that it suffers die deterioration...Spark
