I haven't decided yet to send it in, I have several other coins I would like to send in. Its a bit pricey to send coins in for grading. Thinking about it.
Hello, I had not heard about this type of error, so thanks for posting and helping me learn something new. Question: would a coin like this be usually rejected by the coin machines due to the weight discrepancy?
Thanks arby for dropping a little knowledge on us all. Sad thing is i wish this post existed sooner because i think ive run across one thinking what a weird worn look with luster and dump it back with the returns.
If I were you, I would definitely send it in for no other reason than to quiet the "Doubting Thomases". Chris
Yes, I realize there is a cost factor to consider. My point was more for authentication of it being on quarter stock.
Yes they should be rejected, but those machines are not 100%, if you have been CRH for any length of time, most individuals get foreign coins in their rolls. I have pulled several Gambling Tokens from casinos here in New Mexico
It seem some individuals don't take into consideration that some individuals know what they are talking about and have experience with this hobby. IF I wasn't sure I would have asked a question instead of posting a fact. This is how America is today it seem like no one wants to listen to facts.
Rickmp,, wanted to share a post from a blogger on CCF, This guy pulled 5 of these type of coins CRH. What an awesome find. www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?whichpage=1537&TOPIC_ID=22710
I'm slamming ny head against the wall. A few weeks ago, i had a couple that kept getting rejected and looked similar to yours. I just turned them in to the teller...sigh...
That sucks Jasanche, you should see them again, its amazing to me how many coins I seen over and over again, I mark all NIFC's that I throw back because they are not good enough to keep, nobody freak out 90% rubbing Alcohol removes magic marker without hurting the coin or the person using it. LOL I have seen the same coin three times in one month, and still pull silver from those boxes containing the coins I have marked. Good luck and keep an eye out for those.
I asked this earlier but can you please take a picture with the half dollar side by side with a normal half dollar. I want to see the difference so I know what to look for. Thanks. Something like this please.
Sorry NNL I missed that earlier post, Here the pic you requested, and an additional photo with an additional half.
You read my mind! I almost asked for adding the additional half. Thank you for the visuals! Cool find. You can definitely see the difference.
