    @ldhair and I thank you for this clarification. Nevertheless, I rarely use ammonia on any high grade silver and never on proofs. Thanks for the info and I plan to try it on some proofs. In the past I was told that ammonia "fogs" proofs but apparently you have never seen this happen.
